Background (3)
Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation, School of Law, New York University

Charlie has over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, and taxation. After obtaining his legacy CA designation through KPMG Toronto, he excelled in auditing within the financial institutions and real estate sectors. He later served as a Director in the Chief Accountant’s Division at CIBC, providing firm-wide consultation on accounting policies and procedures, and subsequently as a Senior Consultant at BMO Capital Markets, focusing on derivatives and hedge trading.

Since 2013, Charlie has focused his career on U.S. and Canadian tax law, with a practice spanning tax planning, transactional advisory, and tax litigation support.

After completing his Master of Laws degree at New York University, Charlie expanded his professional work to include serving as Legal Counsel specializing in U.S. and Canadian Tax and Business Law.

Charlie continues to identify strongly with his accounting background. He has assumed—and continues to assume—CFO roles for various multinational and domestic corporations, while also bringing the analytical expertise and advisory skills of a seasoned commercial litigator and transactional lawyer when assisting clients on complex matters.

Outside of work, Charlie enjoys spending time with his family, watching documentaries, and reading about history.
